Player Development & FITS
The Lacrosse FITS program is a fun and active sport training and development program built for community volunteers and coaches with little to no lacrosse experience. Each detailed lesson module provides an assortment of exciting and engaging activities for players, regardless of skill level.
This program has been designed so that the training modules allow players to progress from one lesson to the next, working from individual skills up to basic team ideas that are general to field and box lacrosse. Beyond lacrosse, the modules also focus on skills such as running, jumping, throwing, and catching, which are fundamental to any sport.
The lessons are designed so that the physical literacy is age appropriate for children ages 6 through 12, yet can be used at any age. In other words, if you introduced Lacrosse FITS to a team with no lacrosse experience, you would still begin with Lacrosse FITS 1 as the starting point regardless of the players’ age.
Each detailed training module contains 10 individual lessons and provides an assortment of exciting and engaging activities for all players, regardless of skill level. For more information on the specific training modules, please click here.
The Canadian Lacrosse Association values the input and suggestions of coaches and volunteers across Canada. Should you have any questions or comments about the Lacrosse FITS program, please visit our FAQ page or contact us.
